How Depop fees work in 2026
Depop dropped its 10% selling fee for US sellers in 2024, so a standard US sale now carries just one charge: the payment processing fee of 3.3% + $0.45 per order through Depop Payments. There are no listing fees and no monthly subscription.
The processing fee is calculated on everything the buyer pays: the item price, the shipping, and any sales tax Depop collects. You never receive the tax (Depop sends it to the state), but you still pay 3.3% on it. That's why the calculator asks for the buyer's tax rate.
The one optional fee is Boosted Listings. Boosts started on or after March 23, 2026 cost 12% of the item price, up from 8%; boosts started before that date keep the old rate. If you arrange your own shipping, the boost fee applies to the shipping you charge as well. With a Depop label, it's charged on the item price only. You pay it only when the item sells within 28 days of a buyer viewing, liking or clicking the boosted listing.
The formula
processing fee = sale × (1 + sales tax rate) × 3.3% + $0.45
boosting fee = item price × 12% (plus shipping × 12% if you ship yourself)
Depop fees = processing fee + boosting fee
profit = sale − Depop fees − item cost − your shipping cost
Example: a $40 sale with $6 shipping
You sell a vintage tee for $40 and the buyer pays $6 for shipping, which covers your $6 label. You paid $10 for the shirt. There's no boost, and we'll leave sales tax out to keep the numbers clean.

If the same shirt sold through a 12% boost with a Depop label, you'd add $4.80 in fees and profit would drop to $23.23. That's still less than Poshmark's 20% cut, but it's more than double the processing fee.

The fixed $0.45 matters most on cheap items, which is why bundles are worth encouraging.
Tips for keeping more of each Depop sale
- Boost selectively. A boost that sells a stale item is worth 12%. Boosting items that would sell anyway just hands Depop an extra cut.
- Push bundles. One order pays one $0.45 fixed fee, so three items in a bundle save you $0.90 compared with three separate sales.
- Check the label cost before offering free shipping. When you cover shipping, it comes straight out of your profit. Enter it in "Your shipping cost" and set buyer shipping to $0.
- Use the break-even price as your offer floor. Anything below it loses money once fees and the label are paid.
- Remember income tax. Depop issues a 1099-K once you pass the IRS reporting threshold, and profit on items sold above what you paid is taxable.
