How Poshmark fees work in 2026
Poshmark has one of the simplest fee structures of any resale marketplace. There's no listing fee, no monthly subscription and no separate payment processing fee. When something sells, Poshmark takes one of two amounts:
- Sales under $15: a flat $2.95.
- Sales of $15 or more: 20% of the sale price.
The fee is based on the price the buyer pays for the item, after any accepted offer or bundle discount. It is not charged on shipping or on the sales tax Poshmark collects.
Who pays shipping
The buyer pays a flat shipping rate at checkout, and Poshmark emails you a prepaid label for packages up to 5 lb. In the normal case shipping costs you nothing. You pay part of it in two situations: when you offer a shipping discount (reduced or free shipping) to close a sale, or when a heavy package needs an upgraded label. Either way the amount comes out of your earnings, so enter it in the "Shipping you cover" field.
The formula
earnings = sold price − Poshmark fee − shipping you cover
profit = earnings − item cost − other costs
Example: a $40 sale
You sell a pair of jeans you bought for $10 at a thrift store. The buyer pays $40 plus shipping, and you don't offer a shipping discount.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Sold price | $40.00 |
| Poshmark fee (20% of $40) | $8.00 |
| Shipping you cover | $0.00 |
| Your earnings | $32.00 |
| Minus item cost ($10) | $22.00 profit |
That's a 55% margin on the sale price. The lowest price you could accept without losing money is $12.95, because below $15 the fee is a flat $2.95 on top of your $10 cost.
The $15 line
Because the fee switches from flat to percentage at $15, prices just under the line are a bad deal. A $14 sale pays $2.95 and nets $11.05; a $15 sale pays $3.00 and nets $12.00. If an item is worth around $14, list it at $15 or bundle it with something else. At the bottom end, the flat fee is brutal: on a $5 item it's 59% of the sale.
Tips for keeping more on Poshmark
- List high enough to leave room for offers. Most Poshmark buyers make an offer, so price 10–20% above what you'll accept and use the break-even figure as your floor.
- Count shipping discounts as a cost. A discount that looks small can wipe out the profit on a cheap item.
- Weigh heavy items before you list. Coats, boots and bundles can go over 5 lb, and the label upgrade is on you.
- Bundle low-priced pieces. Three $8 tops sold together pay one 20% fee ($4.80) instead of three $2.95 fees ($8.85).
- Keep records. Poshmark may send you a 1099-K, so track what you paid for each item.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Poshmark take from a sale in 2026?
Poshmark charges a flat $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% on sales of $15 or more. On a $40 sale, the fee is $8.00 and you earn $32.00. There are no listing fees or separate payment processing fees.
Does Poshmark charge fees on shipping?
No. The buyer pays for shipping through Poshmark's prepaid label, and the commission is calculated on the sale price only. You pay part of shipping only if you offer a shipping discount or need a heavier label than the standard one.
Is it better to price an item at $14 or $15 on Poshmark?
At $14 you pay $2.95 and keep $11.05. At $15 you pay $3.00 and keep $12.00. Once you're near the line, going up to $15 almost always nets you more, since the fee only rises by five cents.
Who pays for shipping on Poshmark?
The buyer pays the flat shipping rate at checkout, and Poshmark emails you a prepaid label. If you offer discounted or free shipping, the discount is taken out of your earnings. Packages over 5 lb need an upgraded label, and the seller pays the difference.
When do I get paid on Poshmark?
Your earnings are released after the buyer accepts the order, or automatically three days after delivery if they don't report a problem. You can then transfer the balance to your bank or spend it on Poshmark.
