How StockX seller fees work in 2026
On StockX's Verified Marketplace, where every item is checked before it reaches the buyer, a US seller's payout is the sale price minus three charges:
- Transaction fee, set by your seller level: 9% at Level 1, 8.5% at Level 2, 8% at Level 3, 7.5% at Level 4 and 7% at Level 5. StockX lists a $5.00 minimum seller fee for US sellers.
- Payment processing fee of 3% of the sale price at every level.
- Seller shipping fee of $5 per standard sale. StockX provides the prepaid label, and the fee comes out of your payout. It went up from $4 on March 1, 2026.
Authentication is built into these fees; there's no separate verification charge. If an item fails verification, though, expect to cover the cost of getting it back.

StockX keeps 14.5% of this sale. At Level 5 the transaction fee drops to $14.00, raising the payout to $175.00.
Why cheap items cost more
The $5 minimum and $5 shipping fee are fixed, so they hit low prices hardest. On a $40 item at Level 1, 9% would be $3.60, but the minimum lifts it to $5; with $1.20 processing and $5 shipping, StockX keeps $11.20, or 28% of the sale. Above roughly $56, the percentage fee exceeds the minimum and total fees settle near 12% plus $5.
Tips for selling on StockX
- Price from the payout back. Decide the payout you need, then use the break-even ask as your floor. Undercutting the lowest ask by a few dollars costs you less than you think after fees.
- Compare with eBay. eBay's authenticity guarantee covers sneakers above certain prices with different fees; check both before listing expensive pairs.
- Ship on time. Late or failed shipments bring penalties and can hold back your seller level.
- Keep the box perfect. Damaged or missing boxes can fail verification, which costs you the sale and return shipping.
- Watch for fee promotions. StockX runs occasional seller-fee discounts; enter the promotional rate with the custom option.
